Problem is, the big mainspring sits there, so you have to make a shelld offset to push the spring further back, then a plat for it to push against, trim it down to about 12 of its length, etc. ![]() Theres a company that recreates WWII weapons, believe its Valkyrie arms Im 90 sure they had a sten they created. Sten Mk2 Parts Kit Full Link AndSorry its gonna be a full link and not shortened, forgot the format for that. Share Report Save level 2 Original Poster 1 year ago Ill have to look them up. Grease gun would go good with my M1. Share Report Save Continue this thread level 2 1 year ago I think she closed up shop a few years ago. King Arms has done a few of them and I think he charges about 1k turnkey. Share Report Save level 2 Original Poster 1 year ago I realized building the MK2 with the pistol grip and figuring out if I wanted to F1 or brace it would be a better idea than trying to build a 16 monster then having to cut it down. Im in the military so F1s might be a little difficult to deal with. Share Report Save Continue this thread level 1 1 year ago Indianapolis Ordnance makes an 80(ish) receiver and sells a semi auto spring kit. Buy that and a parts kit, send off efile form 1 and later buy a stock and barrel. Its a fun project, be prepared for metal splinters. Share Report Save level 2 Original Poster 1 year ago Its the MK2 that has the pistol grip and no stock correct 0 Share Report Save level 1 1 year ago Yes. Easy, it can be done with a cheap spot welder and Dremel tool. Did it myself. Not NFA if you either build it as a pistol or extend the barrel. The thing to know is that you cant just slap it all together. Easiest course to do that, Indianapolis Ordnance sells the parts for about 400 total. Ever since the 80s open bolt semi autos have not been allowed. Share Report Save level 2 Original Poster 1 year ago Indianapolis Ordnance sells all the parts for that. Share Report Save Continue this thread level 1 1 year ago Ive done it with a Dremel and a mig. I highly suggest going MKII because welding up the MKIIIs magwell is a P I T A. Id also suggest looking for one of the conversions that use an AR FCG rather than the funky striker system that the major kits use 2 Share Report Save level 1 1 year ago Ive built one. I made my own pistol grip that matches the angle of the T-stock, but is cut down. Ive also seen a lot of people to mares leg pistols where they just cut the T-stock after the grip. As far as conversions go, Im more of a DIY over Buy kind of guy, so I drilled through the bolt, made my own firing pin, converted the FCG to use AR FCG parts (from pull to push, it was a thing.) and converted the FA selector to a SAFESEMI safety. If you have any experience running a lathe, its childs play to convert the bolt. ![]() As others have posted, IA sells the conversion parts, but theyre pricey. The kit includes all the parts, might as well use them as much as you can. Hammer fired can be a bit more tricky, since the breech is just so far forward from where the fcg is. You basically have to make the hammer hit the rear of the tail of the bolt.
